Brent Olthuis graduated with Great Distinction from the Faculty of Law at McGill University, where he was the recipient of numerous academic awards. Before joining Arvay Finlay, Mr. Olthuis completed clerkships with the Honourable Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Honourable Mr. Justice Iacobucci of the Supreme Court of Canada, and practised with a national law firm in Ottawa.
Mr. Olthuis has experience in the areas of Aboriginal, administrative, constitutional, commercial, and class action law, as well as in the realm of criminal defence. He is admitted to the Bars of Ontario and British Columbia and has appeared in both the trial and appellate level of court. Mr. Olthuis is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Vancouver Bar Association, and l’Association des juristes d’expression française de la Colombie-Britannique.
