Arvay Finlay has been very involved in the field
of human rights since the Human Rights Code was
enacted in 1990. In that time, we have acted for
clients in some of the most complex and significant
cases in British Columbia. We acted for UBC students
in respect of their complaints that the RCMP had
contravened their right to freedom of expression
at the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference
(APEC) Conference at the RCMP Public Complaints
Commission hearing into these allegations. Arvay
Finlay has also acted for several clients whose
rights under the Human Rights Code were breached.
In addition, we have also acted as counsel to the
Canadian Human Rights Commission in several mediations.
If you feel that your human rights have been violated, such as the right to be treated equally regardless of your sex, race or religious beliefs, and need advice on what to do, please contact us.
